Nexent Bank wins the Public Choice Award at UX Design Awards - Spring 2026 for the Avantaj app

6 March 2026

Avantaj app by Nexent Bank has won the Public Choice Award at UX Design Awards - Spring 2026, one of the most prestigious international competitions dedicated to user experience. The award recognizes excellence in user-centered design and the quality of the digital experience delivered in the financial services sector.

The award confirms the Bank’s strategic direction of building digital banking services centered around the customer, in a context where user experience has become a major differentiator in the financial sector. This recognition comes shortly after the completion of the bank’s rebranding process - a strategic evolution designed to reflect more clearly its focus on digitalization, personalization, and financial services tailored to customers’ real needs.

A validation of the strategy “The bank designed around you.”

The Avantaj app for Card Avantaj was developed based on a clear premise: managing a credit card should be intuitive, secure, and naturally integrated into everyday life. User experience has been embedded from the earliest stages of development, through close collaboration between the technology, product, and business teams.

The app enables users to manage their cards through a unified interface, split payments into installments, generate virtual cards, and approve 3D Secure transactions via push notifications. It integrates a loyalty program designed to encourage consistent usage, offering up to 3% cashback, progressive benefit tiers, and dedicated advantages.

“The UX Design Awards recognition validates the way we approach digital product development: user experience is a strategic pillar for us. In the credit card segment, differentiation is no longer driven solely by financial parameters, but by the way technology, personalization, and simplicity generate real value for customers.” said Antar Turgay, Retail Banking Director, Nexent Bank N.V. Amsterdam Bucharest Branch.

The Avantaj app was developed by Nexent Bank in collaboration with its partners Zitec and Metyis, following a cross-functional working model based on continuous iteration and the integration of user feedback, with the goal of creating relevant digital experiences in financial services.

The app’s design was built around real user needs, by simplifying interactions and eliminating unnecessary complexity, while maintaining a constant balance between simplicity and security. This approach reflects Nexent Bank’s vision of being an adaptive, people-driven bank that creates value through financial solutions designed around the customer.

“This international recognition confirms our commitment to building financial products that are simple, secure, and relevant to our customers’ everyday lives. Banking must be adaptive, intuitive, and designed around people, and the award received for the Avantaj App validates this philosophy.” said Yakup Çil, General Manager, Nexent Bank N.V. Amsterdam Bucharest Branch.

Through this award, Nexent Bank further strengthens its positioning as a financial institution focused on digitalization and the development of modern banking experiences, aligned with the way customers interact with financial services today.
