The 2015 results show that it was a successful year for CEB Romania in several aspects. The bank had strong financial performance, with a net profit before tax reaching a satisfactory level of 12 million euro, while the solvency ratio was more than 15%.
”Despite the difficult environment, in 2015, our corporate and SMEs lending activities have shown a significant increase. The corporate and SME loan portfolio has increased by more than 50% and the total loan portfolio has increased by over 14%”, said Yakup Cil, CEO of Credit Europe Bank Romania.
On the retail segment, CardAvantaj continued to be the main growth engine. The total number of credit cards increased by 5% and the credit card turnover grew by more than 8%.
In 2015, the total customer deposits remained stable, at the level of 600 million euro, with a well-diversified deposit base. “Looking ahead, we are confident in our ability to continue this profitable growth in 2016, but also in the long term. This year, the main objective will continue to be linked to corporate, SME and card business activities. We have an ambitious target for 2016, namely the desire to increase the loan portfolio by more than 30%, especially in the corporate and SME area”, added Yakup Cil.
The card goal is also ambitious. Thus, it is desired to increase the total number of credit cards by over 10% and the total turnover to be over 15%. To achieve this, the bank launched a new product at the end of last year, called the "Optimo Card". This is a consumer credit facility that offers customers up to 36 monthly installments. Also this year the bank will introduce another innovative product for consumers in Romania, which will be received with great interest by customers.
Another aspect that CEB Romania wants to communicate is that, up to now, the Credit Europe Group has finalized offering solutions for more than 1,000 credits to customers with CHF credits in an effort to provide them with quick options to the financial difficulties they face. These are tailored to the customer's current payment capability, assessed by the bank, based on the financial documents provided to the bank.
In order to better understand the needs of customers, from this perspective, the bank has recently set up a telephone line for these issues (+4021 406 50 60). Thus, all customers with CHF credits that need and want to get an adequate solution will be able to access the bank representatives much easier.
