Nexent Bank streamlines customer data updates through partnership with the General Directorate for Persons Records

12 March 2026

Nexent Bank N.V. Amsterdam Bucharest Branch has initiated a collaboration with the General Directorate for Persons Records (D.G.E.P.), enabling the verification and validation of customer identity data through direct queries to the National Register for Persons Records, with the aim of optimizing customer due diligence processes.

The initiative aims to streamline the relationship with the bank and increase the accuracy of information, in compliance with applicable legal requirements, thereby providing customers with a simpler and more seamless experience through the digitalization and automation of banking processes.

“This collaboration represents a concrete step aligned with our direction of digitalization and process efficiency. We aim to simplify administrative interactions and provide a faster and more secure banking experience. For us, modernizing our services means clear, transparent processes oriented toward our customers’ needs,” stated Yakup Çil, General Manager, Nexent Bank N.V. Amsterdam Bucharest Branch.

As of December 2025, the Bank periodically queries the National Register for Persons Records for all Romanian resident customers - individuals, as well as the legal representatives of legal entities - and automatically updates in its systems the data from their identity documents.

The collaboration does not modify existing contractual relationships and does not require any additional action from customers. Furthermore, the periodic querying of data from the National Register for Persons Records by the Bank does not remove the contractual obligation to update data whenever changes occur or when the Bank requests such information.

Through this initiative, Nexent Bank further strengthens its strategic direction of digitalization and customer experience optimization. At the same time, it contributes to the simplification of data verification and validation processes, including for holders of the Electronic Identity Card, while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance.

For further information regarding the processing of personal data, customers may consult the Privacy Policy available on the Bank’s website or contact us by email at dpo@nexentbank.ro.
